Seeking an experienced MongoDB Engineer to lead and execute migrations from MongoDB Enterprise or self‑managed environments to MongoDB Atlas. This hands‑on role partners closely with application, cloud, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure secure, reliable, and high‑performance migrations.
Responsibilities
- Lead full migration lifecycle: assessment, planning, execution, validation, cutover, and hypercare
- Migrate on‑prem/self‑managed MongoDB to Atlas
- Configure and manage Atlas clusters, RBAC, backups, monitoring, alerts, and network access
- Troubleshoot connectivity, authentication, replication, performance, and application issues
- Optimize indexing, queries, backups, and capacity
- Create runbooks, validation plans, and operational documentation
Required Qualifications
- 3–5+ years with MongoDB Enterprise, self‑managed MongoDB, and Atlas
- Hands‑on migration experience (Atlas tools, mongodump/mongorestore, backup/restore)
- Strong knowledge of replica sets, sharding, indexing, aggregation, RBAC, performance tuning
- Experience with secure cloud connectivity (private endpoints, IP allow lists, TLS, DNS, firewalls)
- Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills
Preferred
- MongoDB certification
- Azure or GCP experience
- Scripting/automation and CI/CD familiarity
- Production cutover and post‑migration support experience
